Happy Birthday Alexis!

Image
The older my children get, the harder it is for me to fully enjoy the fact that they are another year old! Oh Alexis, 6 years ago today, I got to hold you in my arms for the first time as a newborn baby! We had the whole medical team there. Uncle Joe and Uncle David waited outside the waiting room door. Daddy of course was with me. We knew you would be on the small side but worried about your health. As soon as you were born you let out a loud cry! I remember a nurse saying something like, "Aint nothing wrong with that little one, she just wanted to be out!'' From that day on you have been a sweet little spirit that has let her opinions be known. And not in a bad way either. I think that's a great skill to have especially since you are my third born! When I held you in my arms I knew right away that you were missing a little buddy in heaven but that is a story for another day. Today I want to let you know that I am so glad that I have the opportunity to be your Mom...

Mommy Daughter Date

Olivia and I went on our first Mommy Daughter date to  watch some Russian Folk dancers at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. All bundled up and ready to go!   Getting to our  seats. Cheese! Mommy another picture!  Before the dancing started I heard in English No Flash photography! Don't worry I'm a rule follower.  I turned my flash off!   I didn't care for this dance but the ladies had very entertaining  facial expressions. Olivia's favorite dance was a guy who danced with a plate. He danced the plate up to the tippy top of his head and back down his back. Wish I could shake it like these ladies! Loved the dresses!   Gangnam  Style? This looked like to kids fighting. It was only one guy in costume!  The last dance was a traditional Russian dance and by far one of my favorites! ...

Sokolniki Park

Wow, I can't believe that Spring Break was the last time I posted something! We have had so much fun during the year here in Moscow. I have taken lots of pictures and it's about time to get some things on the blog! So, let me start with today. Today we ventured off the compound to Sokolniki Park. It was so worth the trip!  We carried with us a sled and some ice skates. Everyone had on several layers as it was 26 degrees Fahrenheit when we left the house. (Which was way warmer than it had been!)  We took our 4 kids on the crazy Moscow metro. Of coarse I had to hold Jacob because he would be trampled in the crowds. We smush our way on to the metro and right away people are insistent that we take a seat. Every time I get on the metro with a my children someone performs some act of kindness! I think with this many children you need it! We finally arrive to our destination and ....Wow! The walk up to the park was on a little brick street. Mike and the k...
