Let's Party!

Image
My mom sent us some Super Bowl decorations.  We love to  celebrate !  The highlight for me was eating chili out of a football bowl.    David was determined to stay up for kick off 12:30 am. Tomorrow will be interesting… Let’s see how many little Duson’s actually make it to school tomorrow. He made it!

“Mom let’s go sledding!”

Jacob loves sledding. Jacob is now the only kid at home during the day. I love snuggling my little guy on the couch. But for some reason he is so full of energy.  “Mom let’s go sledding!”    He settles for me watching him sled. I also love getting some sunshine in during the winter. We call it sun points. We try and let the sun touch us and then yell, “sun points!” It’s our silly little game but these are the little things that are special.  They are only ours. I'm  starting to like this whole just one at home thing.  It was so much harder in Moscow. We lived right across the street from the childcare center. He would watch all of the other kids playing and want to join in. Now we have Mommy School at home, just the two of us. I am really going to miss this time. Thinking back our time in Moscow was special too. It’s not every day that you get to be a teacher in your son’s class. Jacob is the last little Dunso...

Guess What....Snow!

So spending most of my life in the South I still get excited when I see snow! So here it is folks. Snow!

Do you want to build a Snowman?

Hi Grandma! The Dunson girls are crazy about the movie Frozen. I have to admit it is a pretty good movie. Grandma sent us some supplies to make our own Olaf the snowman. Grandma instructed the kids via skype. We were up an hour past bedtime. It was a fun family activity! I'm finished. I'm going to bed. Right here on the floor! Go Tar Heels! Finished Snowman

Pinewood Derby

Image
Today was the Pinewood Derby. Mike and David had worked on his car for weeks. It was a good father son bonding opportunity or so I am told. It was “boys only” in the garage. David had the idea for the design and really wanted to add his Nerf bullets to the car. Proud father and son. Just finished the weigh in. Daddy and David David's Car All The Racers Bear Den Cars The whole family showed up to support him.  His car did not win the race.  He did win a ribbon for the most creative car in his den. A happy racer.     Showing of his car.

Unpacking Helper

Jacob helping me unpack Oh Happy Day! When we received our household goods we were so excited. We had been without our stuff for two months. The rest of the kids were at school. Jacob was my "helper". He was so happy to see things from our Russia house here in Budapest.
