Happy Birthday David!

Image
Before Singing Happy Birthday My sweet baby boy turns 9! Happy Birthday! David, you are such a sweet boy. Even though you are my oldest son you will always be my baby! You are extremely smart. Almost every afternoon I find you curled up in a corner with a good book. David, you're such a snuggler and I love your happy positive attitude. Each year your teachers have commented that you are such a good leader and mentor with your friends. David you are going to do great things. I am so proud to be your mom! I love you, I love you, I loooooove you!  As we are in the middle of a move, we agreed that we would have a family fun adventure instead of a birthday party. Any day out in town is an adventure in Moscow. We went on an Ice Breaker Cruise, visited the Moscow City Diorama at the hotel Ukraine, and made one visit to Red Square. Here are some photos to remember our shared Birthday Adventure: Family Love! David enjoying the Clown's Balloons At the Diorama

When I grow up I want to be an Astronaut!

Image
Saying Cheese behind a real life Astronaut! Guess what we did? We met with Astronaut Sunny Williams!  She met with the embassy community here in Moscow and gave a lovely presentation. She had a meeting last year here but I was unsure that Jacob could handle it. Hurray for second chances! Anyway back to my original thought.... After she spoke with with us I felt so inspired. It made me think, what do I want to do when I grow up...? But here's the best part. I heard kids in the halls saying when I grow up I want to be an astronaut! Anything is possible.  Her story was inspiring and the little kid in me wanted my photo with the girl Astronaut.

Work Events

One thing that is very different with Mike's job here in Moscow are all of the work events. I absolutely love any time that I can tag along. I'm a stay at home Mom. Most of the time I wear yoga pants. I think I like it because it's a change. It's not mandatory for me to attend, and it doesn't happen that often. We were able to attend a Concert and Reception at the Cultural Center of the Russian Federation Armed Forces.  Mike snapping a picture before the show. This Lady played some of the most moving music I have ever heard. Look at that beautiful stage! Behind Russian Military Unit Flags  We got to see Vladimir Matorin a famous Russian Opera singer. He is considered one of the greatest contemporary bass singers in Russia. This is one of those rare right place, at the right time moments. Group Photo with Vladimir Matorin.

Happy Birthday Alexis!

The older my children get, the harder it is for me to fully enjoy the fact that they are another year old! Oh Alexis, 6 years ago today, I got to hold you in my arms for the first time as a newborn baby! We had the whole medical team there. Uncle Joe and Uncle David waited outside the waiting room door. Daddy of course was with me. We knew you would be on the small side but worried about your health. As soon as you were born you let out a loud cry! I remember a nurse saying something like, "Aint nothing wrong with that little one, she just wanted to be out!'' From that day on you have been a sweet little spirit that has let her opinions be known. And not in a bad way either. I think that's a great skill to have especially since you are my third born! When I held you in my arms I knew right away that you were missing a little buddy in heaven but that is a story for another day. Today I want to let you know that I am so glad that I have the opportunity to be your Mom
