Mommy Daughter Date

Olivia and I went on our first Mommy Daughter date to  watch some Russian Folk dancers at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall.

 Before the dancing started I heard in English No Flash photography! Don't worry I'm a rule follower.
 I turned my flash off!








 
I didn't care for this dance but the ladies had very entertaining  facial expressions.




Olivia's favorite dance was a guy who danced with a plate. He danced the plate up to the tippy top of his head and back down his back.






Wish I could shake it like these ladies!

This looked like to kids fighting. It was only one guy in costume!

 The last dance was a traditional Russian dance and by far one of my favorites!



This guy was really high in the air!

On thing about every performance I have been to in Moscow is that the clapping is an experience! They seem to love to clap! Felt like we clapped for everything! I loved it!

Family Work

Let’s get this party started Are you picturing your last late-night party that you danced the night away? I’m not talking about that kind of party. I’m talking about a family work party. Yes raising a family is hard work. But that’s not what I’m talking about either. In our house, Saturday mornings are typically spent cleaning together and listening to the parents' music of choice. Everyone is cleaning. You could call it mandatory family fun. I say this in jest. Cleaning isn’t my favorite thing to do. In all honesty, when I can afford it I pay someone to help me clean the house. So what’s the point? What are we doing? Do I just want to make my children miserable? Faith in Family Life We’ve all heard the African saying, “It takes a village to raise a child. In today's fast-paced world where do we find such a village? Well, the first place to look is our own family. There’s parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. What if we are far from our families? Then we could turn to our neighbors, schools, and communities. What if they do not share our same values and thinking that we wish to teach our children? Many people have turned to their schools with disappointing results. Who then should we turn to? Our church family! We likely share many of the same values with our church family.
