Spring Break

So this Spring Break it was mostly raining. We really enjoyed having the kids home. David and Olivia enjoyed being there for our Mother Goose Preschool time. There were two days that it didn't rain and we tried to make the most of it. We went on a little walk to get some fruit and vegetables and then went to get Baskin Robin's ice cream. There were two on our way to the market.


Only one or two people fit inside.



I'm not sure what flavor that was but it had Pop Rocks inside it.






On Saturday it warmed up a bit and we went to Red Square. It was amazing !!




Yes it's stuffed.

Family Work

Let’s get this party started Are you picturing your last late-night party that you danced the night away? I’m not talking about that kind of party. I’m talking about a family work party. Yes raising a family is hard work. But that’s not what I’m talking about either. In our house, Saturday mornings are typically spent cleaning together and listening to the parents' music of choice. Everyone is cleaning. You could call it mandatory family fun. I say this in jest. Cleaning isn’t my favorite thing to do. In all honesty, when I can afford it I pay someone to help me clean the house. So what’s the point? What are we doing? Do I just want to make my children miserable? No. I know the value of family work. I know that it strengthens my family. It Takes a Village

Faith in Family Life We’ve all heard the African saying, “It takes a village to raise a child. In today's fast-paced world where do we find such a village? Well, the first place to look is our own family. There’s parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. What if we are far from our families? Then we could turn to our neighbors, schools, and communities. What if they do not share our same values and thinking that we wish to teach our children? Many people have turned to their schools with disappointing results. Who then should we turn to? Our church family! We likely share many of the same values with our church family.
